The property was designed in 1930 by Dean Parmelee, Architect at the request of Warren Zinsmaster, property owner of the Madrid House next door. Conceived as a 'Florida Style' compound to host visiting faculty for the recently established University of Miami, the property boasts a moat, a cave and a four car garage.
